Viewing the Viewports

HI folks, I have a model space drawing that is working great, I put a viewport on it so I could generate a plot of a section of the drawing. However, I cant see the viewport outline (in the layers, its set to orange) so that I can adjust its size etc.

Whats the right way to do that?

Tim

Hi Tim,

Please refer to the tutorial: Working with Layout Blocks and Viewports.

When adding your Viewport place it on a dedicated layer, for example called ‘Viewports’.
Set the attributes of this layer to any Color, Linetype and weight of your choice.

Avoid for example layer ‘Defpoints’ what is a system layer typically set not plottable and thus not visible in Page Preview.
You can also hide or freeze this layer for not displaying it.

Page Preview mode is automatically set when switching to a Layout.
You can turn off this mode by closing the ‘Print Preview’ … Displaying the not plottable layers.

Remark that there is no box in Model_Space.
The red, cyan and purple boxes in the screenshot under Viewports and Duplication are for illustrative purposes only.
But you can add these in Model_Space on the ‘Viewports’ layer before indicating the size of you Viewport(s).

The size and the center focus of your Viewport is editable in the Layout Block, not in the Model Block.
