This may have been discussed already however I can’t seem to find a simple answer: Can dimensions in paper space be scaled to viewport scales?
If so, how is this done?
OK I sort of found the answer scattered in old forum questions, however is there someplace where I can get a complete description or procedure that would include the following in one place or tutorial:
dimensions scaled to paper space viewport
dimension text size always the same regardless of viewport scale

Thanks, I did. Does not address the second question.
Hi,
Dimension measured value is scaled with viewport scale.
Dimension text height is also scaled together with all other dimension entity sizing properties.
One can set a global dimension size scale factor that does not affect the measured value.
One can set individual overall size scale factor and/or a linear measurement factor as dimension style override.
I think that a fixed dimension text height regardless of the viewport scale is not possible.
That might have been different before but the behavior was changed for better compatibility.
It is also possible to draw dimensions in a layout block like any other entity type in any block type.
On creation these take on the global dimension size scale factor but with a linear measurement factor of 1 regarding the size on paper.
As for any dimension one can again use style overrides.
It is then the question of counteracting the viewport scaling or the paper scale with a linear factor.

Thank you, I have a better understanding now. I have used various CAD programs for about 40 years for architectural work and always have my text for dimensions and drawing notes at the same height. In AutoCad all my text except titles are the same height (1/8”) in paper space.

Mads Nyholm .. MPN has filed a Feature Request: FS#1999 : Viewport: Add additional properties for controlling dimensions in a specific Viewport
At present it has 3 votes.
I think that his request addresses your requirements for dimension text heights in viewports.
This will not affect normal text height.
