Mouse scrolling issues after updating to QCAD 3.32.7 (Windows)

Subject: Mouse scrolling issues after updating to QCAD 3.32.7 (Windows)

Hello everyone,

I have just updated from QCAD 3.32.6 to the latest version 3.32.7. Unfortunately, since the update I am experiencing two annoying problems with mouse wheel scrolling:

  1. Horizontal scrolling no longer works – holding down the Shift key and rolling the mouse wheel does nothing (it used to scroll left/right).

  2. Vertical scrolling is extremely slow – each notch of the mouse wheel moves the view only a tiny amount, making navigation very tedious.

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps without success:

  • Opened and closed the print preview (Ctrl+Shift+P), then restarted QCAD.

  • Restarted QCAD several times.

  • Renamed the configuration file (QCAD3.ini) to force a fresh default configuration.

  • Run QCAD as administrator.

  • Disabled hardware acceleration in Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View.

  • Adjusted the mouse wheel zoom factor (e.g. changed from 1.2 to 1.02 and other values).

  • Tested both in a new empty drawing and in existing drawings – the issue persists.

  • Checked the keyboard shortcuts for pan/scroll – they appear correct (Shift+wheel for horizontal).

My system:

  • QCAD version: 3.32.7 (Professional)

  • Operating system: Windows 11 64-bit

  • Mouse: Logitech USB mouse

Has anyone else encountered similar issues after updating to 3.32.7? Is there any known workaround or hidden setting I might have missed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,Andreas

Please indicate which exact package you have downloaded (file name), so we can help you efficiently, thanks.

Thanks.

Bug report at:

This should be fixed in the latest release 3.32.8. Note that we also had to refactor scrolling in general to ensure compatibility with both Qt 5 and Qt 6. Note the new preferences under Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Navigation.
