Layer State Delay

I appologise that I have not introduced myself. I am new to this forum and I will do that shortly.

I am using QCAD 3.32.8. I upgraded from 3.28 and quickly discovered a problem that renders the new version useless. When switching Layer States, there is a 20 second delay before the Layer State Activates. When using version 3.28 there was little or no delay. Does anyone have a solution?

QCAD Version: 3.32.8
QT Version: 5.14.2

My System:

OS: Linux Mint 22.3 - Cinnamon 64-bit
Kernel: 6.17.0-20-generic
Processor: Intel© Core™2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz × 2
Graphics Card: Radeon RX 580 2048SP
Memory: 10.2 GB
Hard Drive Space (Total): 7283.6 GB
Display Server: X11

Please attach your drawing file so we can help you efficiently, thanks.

I can attach the file, but as I mentioned, everything worked fine in the earlier version

Andrew,

FYI
I just upgraded to qcad-3.32.9-pro and there is no change

thanks

I cannot quite reproduce a 20s delay here, though it does take a few seconds to switch to some layer states. This is due to extremely dense line type patterns used. These entities render like continuous but have actually thousands of tiny dashes.

You can verify (or rule out) that this is the problem by temporarily switching to screen-based line types:

View > Screen-based Linetypes

And then switch back and forth between different layer states.

You can switch back to drawing unit line types by choosing the same menu again.

That was the solution! Thank you so much!
