Is there a way to get the area of a hatch?

Friends, on my projects I always need to insert the weight of the parts in the parts list.

I work with QCAD at my part time job at my home.

If I have a piece with a lot of holes or a complex geometry, the way I’m used to get the area in my main job software (AutoCAD) is make a hatch and the area of it and in an excel sheet I insert the area, the depth and get the weight of the part.

Is there a way to get the area of a complex geometry in qcad without need to take the area of every little part and make calculations by hand?

The images show an example of what I’m saying.

I do not believe the area of a hatch is currently a value that is automatically generated or that can easily be generated except with the method you describe where you would subtract the value of each cutout manually. Someone with a little scripting ability could probably automate that. I wish that were something I knew how to do!
