Hello everyone. I have a problem when trying to parametrically draw one relatively simple entity - (vilica =reinforcing stirrup). Here’s the complete code.
I managed to do it in another way without any problems (python - ezdxf) as a separate draft that I can easily copy. However, I have a strong desire to do it as part of QCAD routine. Here is my unfortunate attempt.
Hello, thanks for posting your script. Please let us know which AI you have used to create it and what the exact prompt was, so we can help you efficiently, thanks.
You wouldn’t normally use Python (a completely different programming environment) from QCAD. ezdxf also makes little sense since QCAD Professional comes with excellent DXF/DWG support.
Andrew, thank you for your quick response and your desire to help me! I really appreciate your professionalism, work and friendliness! QCAD is a truly powerful tool! As for my problem from the title, I acted like this - I went out for an evening walk through nature and thought about the prompt After 4 iterations, I successfully solved the given problem. AI is just another useful tool, similar to a calculator. And I’m not ashamed to say that I’m not a programmer and that I use AI or any other tool to get the result. In this case, it was Gemini. Tomorrow it will be something else. I asked for the python-ezdxf combination purely because it is much easier for me as a beginner to understand python code. Also, in the meantime, I have made enough good scripts exclusively for my own needs, the application of which I would like to implement in my QCAD routine. Here is the code in *.js and a video with an example of how I use it. I hope it will be useful to someone.
However, there is another problem. In the previous example, it is evident that I had to draw an auxiliary line to determine where the local coordinate system is for the starting point of this polyline drawn by the script. I want a solution where the new polyline generated by the script binds to the cursor or to a clicked point anywhere in the drawing. The best example of the effect I would like to achieve is the existing procedure when copying an entity (ctrl+c, ctrl+v), that is, to move the newly drawn stirrup with the cursor. My goal is to avoid drawing an auxiliary line.
