Three Questions: What happens if I switch to a new computer after downloading QCAD PROFESSIONAL on my old one?

PRE-PURCHASE QUESTIONS:
I currently have an HP Pavilion laptop with a version of Windows 10 (64 bit) that cannot be converted to Windows 11 because my laptop is too old. Within the coming year, I will have to purchase a new laptop that has Windows 11 because Microsoft is going to stop providing necessary updates for Windows 10. I can’t afford a new computer right now.

I am anxious to get started with QCAD because I need it to design my new porch so I can show my drawings to contractors. If I wait until I have a new laptop before purchasing the QCAD Professional Download, I will lose months when I could be using the software. My porch can’t wait that long because I need it rebuilt for insurance purposes.

QUESTION 1:
If I pay for QCAD Professional to be downloaded NOW to my OLD laptop, what will happen nine months or so from now when I REPLACE that computer with a new one? Will I have to pay again to download QCAD PRO onto the NEW laptop?

QUESTION 2:
If I purchase and download QCAD Professional for Windows 64 bit now BUT ALONG WITH IT I BUY QCAD Professional on a FLASH DRIVE, can I later simply USE QCAD directly FROM that same flash drive on my NEW computer without any installation?

Will the new laptop also have to be 64 bit Windows in order for me to USE that flash drive about to be purchased now?
I have no idea what kind of computer I will buy next.

If buy a flash drive at the same time as I buy a QCAD Professional Download, will the flash drive automatically be limited to the same version (in my case Windows 64 bit) as the download I will purchase with it?

QUESTION 3:
Will I be able to INSTALL QCAD Professional ONTO my new laptop FROM the flash drive, or do all QCAD installations have to be downloaded?

Please clarify what my purchase and installation options are at this time given the constraints outlined above. Thank you.

  1. As already answered, you have access to your personal download area for 12 months.
Afterwards, you can renew your licence for another year at a discount, whenever.

Simply keep a copy of the installation file stored away somewhere is also an option.
As long as you are the sole user, a licence is personal.

In your personal download area there are installation files for various operating systems.

  1. Yes, most probably.
I think that the flash drive is not intended to run QCAD from.
It holds copies of the installation files for various operating systems … A copy of those in your personal download area.

  2. 2

That is not up to us.

As explained above: You buy a licence … Not a OS limited version of QCAD.
